Concerned by the Flint, Michigan water contamination crisis, 11 year old Gitanjali Rao went to work. She developed a portable and inexpensive device that can identify lead compounds in water.

This is Gitanjali’s video submission for the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge. She is a 2017 National Finalist, and was named “America’s Top Young Scientist” in the competition.
