Healthy Deep Fryer or No Oil Deed Fryer! Is It True?

Deep frying involves the use of large amounts of oil. Eating oily food has been cited as the main cause of conditions like;

  • Obesity, which has been on the rise in most younger people in the united states
  • Problems associated with overweight like heart disease.
  • Stretch marks on the skin, caused by overweight issues.

It has however come to the fore that the use of deep fried food is associated with craving. The cravings effects usually make the person in question feel like eating the oily food even when it is time to stop. Craving thus causes eating these foods in larger quantities than the body requires.

Deep frying

The use of oil which is boiled and then food dipped into it is common and has been used for ages. While most pundits agree that the method is wasteful in terms of the oil which usually spill over.

It is the risk this oil usually exposes the user to, which usually appalls most critics. While its use and popularity is not in dispute, it bears some of these risks;

  • Oil spills in the kitchen may cause bodily harm to the individual either directly or through accidental falls.
  • Use of large amounts of oil is non economical and takes in large amounts of money.
  • Fat/ oil Deposits on the cold food may be hard to digest causing constipation and may pose larger risks when this fat is stored in the body.
  • The fuel required to cook is greater.

The traditional method of frying is just the deep frying. The main center of attraction of deep frying method is mainly because of the eventual taste. Fries made through deep frying are found to be very delicious.

Deep frying is therefore associated with several unique attributes while equally attracting the same amounts of negative ones.

So what? Air frying?

The other method of making fries in a healthy way without having to put one’s health on the line has been sought. The latest is the use of Air frying.

This is the new kid in the block which has been gaining footing in most countries of the west. The grave effects caused by overweight have been associated with the heavy consumption of oily food pushed innovative minds into a whirlwind.

Come to think of your usual fry instead of being dipped in oil is just sprinkled with oil and then put into some food preparation equipment which has complete setting and brings it out in the same manner you would like it.

In America, the use of the Air fryers has been praised because it has promised to offer a healthy alternative to the problem of eating oil filled junk food. The air fryers come with a bag full of goodies which make them to be liked in the market.

Some of these goodies include;

  • They are seen to use less oil which makes them quite economical.
  • The Air fryers are scientifically tested and use the principle of hot air in making the food.
  • While in the kitchen, Air fryers have less risk of oil spillage and as a result leave the kitchen surface cleaner.
  • Though the food may not in most cases taste the same way as the deep fried food, the air fried food is just having that perfect taste.
  • Air frying equipments are scientific and some do not even require the turning of food because they do it automatically.
  • Food cooked by Air frying is less on calories and fat. It is for this reason that they are found not to cause the usual health problems.

Is the dream of healthy deep fried foods possible?

With the several innovations especially in the development of more effective air fryers, the area of eating healthy is possible. The current crop of Air fryers like the Phillips and the Tefal actifry are known to be quite innovative in their preparation of the fries.

What is in most cases enchanting is what the promise the Air fryers come with. It is basically an equally good tasting food. This is however still in dispute with those whose sense of taste for deep fries still disputing the fact that Air fried food can equally taste as the deep fried food.

Air fryers also prepare just the same range of foods most people would prefer to be made on deep fryers. For instance, most French fries and chips which are mostly the common candidates for deep frying are now made using Air frying.

All things in life require that personal touch or initiative. It is in this regard that the use of less oil or no oil in food preparation has been gaining lots of credence. Based on what is available, it has materialized already and it’s just a matter of trying it out Air fried food, for those who have not.
