It was January in New York City this last winter when I got fed up with snow and feeling cold all the time. There were horrible blizzards, and this year had been considered the worst winter in the US in two decades, so I decided to go to a warmer place. I have a friend who lives in Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii, so I was thinking to go right there, meet my friend, and discover this wonderful island. My notion about Hawaii was just portrayed by the famous movie Pearl Harbor. I also tried to prepare by reading about it before my trip. I booked the tickets to Hawaii through four airports. I took off from JFK airport in New York City, which is my favorite airport in the US, to Atlanta airport, then to Los Angeles airport, then finally my destination Honolulu airport and met my dear friend. When I was looking from the airplane window, it looked like an amazing island.
First, I was stunned that there is no winter right there. It is summer in January, and I got to know that the weather on this island is summery and warm all the time in the year from January until December. Second, they use this word "Aloha," the original word of Hawaiian people which means "Hello" and "Mahalo" which means "thanks." I was impressed by the common use of the exotic language.
There is just amazingly beautiful nature right there with all of the mountains and incredible beaches. Everything gives the impression that it is a tourist destination with all these Asian and Japanese tourists and all the fun and relaxation. I saw people from all over the US and the world come to all the water sports, especially Waikiki beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the US and the world. For everything from swimming, surfing, diving, boating, water skiing, parasail to sunbathing. I had a tour of the coast with tourists in the boat, and it was relaxation. I still remember the feelings of the experience. Part of my experience included the food. There is a very beautiful restaurant called Duke overlooking the ocean with a wonderful view. Due to Hawaii been a tourists destination, the expense are very high, but the island is very safe all the time.
I did not spend all my time on the beach. Hiking is very popular sport is in Honolulu and Hawaii due to the wonderful hills and mountains. I hiked to Diamond Head and what a wonderful views to the island from that place! Later, I took so many memorable pictures right there. I went to visit Pearl Harbor, the famous harbor, and I always wondered how it looked. I have been fortunate to be there.
Hawaii was just like I had been one week in Paradise. Hawaii deserves to be described as Paradise. If you are looking for a fun, wonderful time and relaxation, you definitely should consider Hawaii (the real Paradise) to be your destination.
