This follows on from the freezing cold temperatures of Sunday night, which saw the mercury dip to -7C in some parts of the UK.

This meant commuters had a cold and frosty start on Monday morning, but as this week should see temperatures climb slightly.

According to the Met Office will be cloudier and milder in the northwest with some light rain and drizzle, mainly over the hills of western Scotland.

Going into Tuesday, the fog in the south will be slow to clear in some areas, but sunshine is expected for many areas.
