On Saturday, the Met Office has a further three amber warnings for rain as Dennis continues to advance.

They come into effect during the mid-afternoon at 3pm for northwest England, southwest England, Wales and Yorkshire and Humber.

Forecasters expect “spells of heavy rain” to pour out one to 3.1 inches (20 to 80mm) of rain over the affected areas, with highs of 4.7 to 5.5 inches (120 to 140mm) possible.

Rainfall could cause a “danger to life” as flooding takes place, with delays to transport and damage to buildings also possible until 3pm the next day.
