Dry Labor Day Weekend Ahead After Friday Storms

Portions of southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle could see small hail, 40 to 60 mph wind gusts and heavy rain Friday afternoon and evening before dry weather returns this weekend.

The National Weather Service in Cheyene issued the following statements Thursday morning:

6:25AM 9/2 – Friday looks to be more active shower and storm wise during the afternoon and evening hours. A few storms could be strong to briefly severe with small hail, wind gusts of 40- 60 mph, and brief local heavy rainfall. Storms will initially be individual ones but then grow together into a line near the WY/NE border as they move east. A line of storms looks probable for the Nebraska Panhandle from 5pm through 10pm.
